violence
When we were brainstorming in class for topic ideas for our projects, someone suggested doing something on the bumper stickers that say "stop the violence". When you read those bumper stickers does that really make an impact on your actions to stop violence? I think just saying that just says that. There needs to be more of an action to stop the violence. The stories we talked about in class were really sad and it is scary thinking that young kids can do such cruel hate crimes. One kid killed another one for being gay. When I was that age I don't think I really understood the concept of being gay was. I think we need to educate children on what lifestyles are to be more accepting to those different lifestyles.

It is really inspiring to witness the compassion this generation has, or at least the students at CSUMB. I believe this college really walks the walk when it comes to instilling the values of a just society in the students. It puts action to issue and I have certainly looked at the world more openly again, which is why I love school this time around!!!
The whole bumper sticker side of free speech would be an interesting topic for your seminar forum. When I am on the road, I enjoy reading bumper stickers. However, like you pointed out, when I read a sticker that says "Stop the Violence," that is pretty much all I do, is read it. I think that it is a safe assumption that there is little to no one that actually takes action with the stop the violence campaign. There definitely needs to be something done to have restrictions on things that cause violence. Like in class, I like you, did not even think about guns or even harming someone for being gay. People these days are becoming more threatening towards others and something needs to be done to fix that.
